Love this place!! Love the owner and his son. So helpful and nice. And who doesn't love family businesses?? I wish I had the money to keep buying furniture. I would always come here! My husband and I ended up getting a wonderful microfiber couch with chaise and we couldn't be happier. We also bought the coolest ottoman to go along with everything. Service is excellent. We ended up buying a floor sample and packing everything in the back of our own truck, but I just know if we had them deliver for us, everything would have arrived in excellent shape. They did help us load the items, and have I mentioned how nice they are? Great selection, great prices, and great people!

I can not say enough about this store. Mel & his son are wonderful. I started going to the store on a referral from a friend. Since that time I have purchased a sofa, love seat, two bedroom sets and a dining room set. The prices are fantastic. When I was in the market for new living room furniture Mel even allowed me to "borrow" anything from the show room until my furniture arrived. Who does that?! Now, the only down side is you really need to do your own footwork. The show room is very small so you need to shop around, find what you like, write down the name and take that information to Sofas for Less. Don't tell them what price you saw if for and I'm telling you they will automatically beat it. It's worth the extra footwork to get such great deals!

I had jaw surgery a few weeks ago and have to sleep upright for 6 weeks. I have been toughing it out the past couple of weeks being propped up on the couch with pillows, but if I kept that up for the next month I would need a backeotomy. Hence, the search for a recliner was on.
My husband dragged me, swollen and drooling, through multiple furniture stores, and for the most part if places almost no one had non-leather recliners in stock that could be delivered ASAP. Sofas for Less had 5 different ones to chose from, which we had delivered within a day. The owner, Mel, gave us free delivery as he tried to break the chair into two parts so it would fit in our car, but was having problems and didn't want to damage the chair. Delivery worked out better as I am not supposed to lift anything heavier than a phone book anyway.
As Roxann mentioned, Mel was pleasant and there was absolutely no pressure. The store is crammed with furniture, but hey, that is what you stopped by to see, anyway.
The delivery guys were professional and courteous. In a funny twist, the main guy noticed a pile of firewood that the previous owners had left (along with damage to the chimney so we've never used the fireplace), so I effectively tipped them with firewood!

I have shopped around many furniture stores. Sofas 4 Less carries the same thing as everyone else just better prices. I feel like i can finally afford to furnish my new home. I got a sectional for my family room. I will be back for the rest of the house. Deciding on a big purchase is hard enough and i always dread going into stores because i don't like being pressured to buy . Mel let me look around without bother, he answered my questions and helped me decide on a sofa that would fit. My experience here was good and non stressful. The best part is it did not go over my budget. No guilt here.

I found this place randomly driving around Martinez and stopped in. The owner, Mel, was welcoming and helpful while giving me plenty of space and time to look around. No pressure whatsoever. I found a great couch at a GREAT price, even before he knocked $100 of the price. Not only that, he was able to arrange delivery on the day I move into my apartment on relatively short notice. I"m SO glad I found this place before I dropped a bundle of cash at Scandinavian Designs. Highly recommended!

Best place to buy your couch. i ordered a mico fiber with a chase 109 in and they sent us a 97in instead, we did not find it out till we got home and my wife and i felt it was a little short. so i called mel, very nice he said no problem that he would reorder a new couch and for us to use this for now. when the right one came in they brought it too our house and unloaded it. it was very nice.

I am very Excited- about picking up our sectional tomorrow. Mel and Diego have been great! They were not pushy at all with selling anything to my husband and I. We had come into the store a couple times before we made a choice. My husband and I went to a couple furniture stores, Ashley furniture to name a few. The material that they use on the sofas/sectionals etc.. is much better quality at sofa's for less then anywhere we looked. I have several of friends that have bought items from Mel and Diego and all have been very happy with their purchase. Happy to do business with this family owned store. :) Thanks Diego and Mel!

I shopped around for a good quality sofa, that was not over priced, for a few weeks. Most salesman at furniture stores act like they are slimy used car salesman and make me very uncomfortable. I went to Sofas for Less and found their product to be excellent but also their customer service and prices. They were very helpful and knew what they were talking about. This is a family run business and they know what customer service is. Diego helped me initially when I went in and was great! I took my husband back on the weekend and we bought our sofa. LOVE IT!! I wish I needed another sofa so I could go back and buy another one!!

Sofas for Less is a great place to buy a sofa. I just received mine today and am thrilled. Mel and Diego were a real pleasure to work with. We were looking at all the major retailers for a quality sofa but everything was vastly over priced. After 6 months of searching we thought we better try some where else, which brought us to Sofas for Less.
At Sofas for Less we found a couch at an unbelievable price and a higher quality then the major retailers. We were able to customize the couch to fit our living room and pick a fabric form their huge selection that matched our decor. The owner (Derek, I think) was a huge help and was very patient with us. My only regret was that we didn't start our search for a couch at Sofas for Less.

Sofas For Less provided a great consumer experience for us. We live in Soledad, CA which is about a 2.5 hour drive to this store. We could not find a sofa to fit the space we had but after finding Sofas for Less on Yelp, we gave Derek a call. Great customer service, great products, great customization options. I was shopping for a new sofa for my elderly aunt. A friend of mine recommended Sofas 4 Less. I admit, I was a bit skeptical but decided to give them a try. When I walked in I was immediately greeted very warmly by Diana. She was so friendly and knowledgable and patiently guided me through the process from fabric choices to style to choice of cushion firmness. I ordered it on Monday and got a call from Derrick today (a mere 3 days later!!) that the sofa was ready. It is a beautiful and comfortable sofa and I know my aunt will love it. An added bonus is that Diana was so friendly, it's the first time I ever had FUN purchasing furniture. Yesterday, I was at another retailer and saw the SAME sofa....only problem was that they had less fabric choices and it was priced nearly $400 higher. It is rare to find not only lovely, quality furniture at a great price, but to also receive supreme customer service. Sofas 4 Less - you have a customer for life. Thank you!

My husband and I had been looking for couches for many months and had not found a couch that met our needs within the price range we were looking in. My husband was working in Martinez and happened to wander into Sofas for Less and talk with Diego and Mel. He not only found several options for couches like might work, but they were also within our price range. Mel and Diego were professional and informative, but not at all pushy or obnoxious. We were able to find the perfect couch, through much indecisiveness, and were not pushed into a decision at all. Our couch arrived in less then 3 weeks with the special fabric we ordered (usually he can get custom couches in within a week).
Unfortuntately, when our couch arrived, it was not the size we believed it would be. We immediately called Mel, expecting the typical himming and hawing we had received from other furniture salespeople. He was polite and eager to find a solution that would work for us. We were able to order another section of the couch to make it a more appropriate size.
I could not be happier with our couch or with the service we received at Sofas for Less. It was such a pleasure to work with Mel and not be met with pushy sales tactics or ridgedness about fixing our sizing problem.

We are in love with our new sectional. Everyone that we had contact with was very friendly and helpful, the sofa came in 3.5 weeks, and is perfect. Would like a somewhat better fabric selection but what they have is on a par with similar stores. Also, when they say custom sizes, it's only custom within the limitations of the sizes of the sections. Nevertheless, we came up with a configuration that works perfectly.

Same great experience as every other review on here. I walked in to Sofas for Less on a whim looking for a new loveseat for my house. Diego was super nice and not your typical salesman at all. Found a perfect loveseat right away... I didn't have to haggle - he gave me the best price right away. SOLD! Glad to support the local guys who do legitimate business.

Walked into Sofas For Less, after shopping around at other well known stores for a loveseat. Had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Derrick, who was very nice and helpful. I ordered my loveseat on July 20th, and Derrick told me that it would take three weeks to receive it. Low and behold I receive a phone call yesterday July 30, from Diego who tells me that my sofa is in and can be delivered. I was so excited and happy to hear that. He originally told me that the sofa would be delivered between 4-5 PM, but then the delivery guys were running a little behind. Diego called me and informed me that they were running late, and was so apologetic about it. The delivery guys were nice and efficient. My sofa looks even more beautiful than when I saw it in the store. The color is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you Derrick and Diego for your AWESOME customer service and your reasonable prices! I came out much cheaper purchasing from your store than any other other furniture store. I will definitely be back to purchase again and will recommend you to others.

We've always bought furniture from the well known retailers over the years - Macy's Breuners, Ethan Allen, Scandinavian Designs etc.
We were shopping for a couch and almost signed a contract with Bassett over the Memorial Day weekend. However, due to the bad reviews, we opted not to return to sign an order.
Surprised to find that yelpers liked SofasforLess in Martnez and now recently opened a second location in Antioch.
A bit apprehensive at first, but was amazed how they followed through with our order without any hesitation. You probably would not get that kind of service from the large retailers. Once the sales person earns his commission, that's the end of his service and the customer now has to do all the grunt work to get their goods delivered.
SofasforLess is a family owned business and they do pride themselves in delievering the couch you ordered (even customized) within a reasonable time frame and at a very reasonable price. All of the made to order sofas are manufactured locally which is a huge plus.
You deal with one person or two (usually family members) and he/they follows through with your orders/changes and I could not have been happier with their services and delivering our couch within two weeks.
Kudos to the double "D" guys - Derrick and Diego.

my life long dream... a sectional.. not just any sectional.. a sectional that was deep.. deep enough that I could fall deep inside and sleep till my hearts content. Never thought my dream would come true. We stopped by just cuz.. and cuz we stopped by we saw some great sofas.. beautiful sectionals, great love seats, wonderful sofas.. but nothing caught our eyes.. until Mel asked if when have been there before.. "He said look around.. you don't see it, don't worry, we can make it.. you choose the lenght, the depth, the color, the fabric, the arms, the softness, If you have any questions.. I'll be around" So with my mind just running wild.. I see the length, I see the depth, I find a color, I find a fabric.. I'm thinking to myself "is this really happening??? Will I finally get my dream sectional??? Is it possible???" we put a down payment and wait.. ohhh the wait.. I waited and waited.. FINALLY the day came... I come home around 10:30 and see this amazing showroom sectional sitting in my livingroom with 10 alternating pilliows... and a tear! Everything was perfect. the color was just right.. the cushions were so soft and the pillows were perfect. Even the legs were perfectly matched. It is the most perfect sofa I could ever imagine. We are so happy with the purchase. Mel initally helped us with the purchase but we talked to Diane and Diego and everyone was super helpful. We had some delay in the delivery process but Diego was super apologitic. I wish they sold more furniture so I can buy more! Thanks Sofa 4 Less for making my dream come true:)

Came across the store randomly on the web. The reviews aren't wrong. Great find.
My wife and I had been searching for a sofa several months off and on, going to different showrooms (C2B, Ikea, Pottery Barn, independent stores in Berkeley and SF, etc).
Wonderful family run store. Derek was patient, didn't pressure us, and just answered our questions straight-up and provided good suggestions as we deliberated. He even entertained our three year old who just wanted to run around.
We wanted one of the couches, but my wife really wanted a style with three pillows instead of two. This wasn't normally done, but Derek was very accomodating and said he'd make it happen even though it tended to increase their costs. He charged us the same. I also ended up ordering an accompanying ottoman.
It's also great to know they make the couches locally in California and not in some sweat-shop in Asia. The prices were VERY reasonable given this is custom built (you pick the style, fabric, color, even the firmness of the cushions).
2 weeks later, Derek called me up and said they finished it. They shipped it that day to my house. Love the couch. It even came with two extra pillows we weren't expecting. The ottoman had two dings on the base feet which probably occurred during the shipping. I called Sofa for Less just to leave a message at 7 pm, but Derek actually answered and, no questions asked, said he'd ship the new base feet I could simply screw on. One minute, literally, and the problem was solved.
Definitely stop by their store (Antioch now - they were in the process of closing the Martinez store). I'll definitely recommend them to friends.

It was a pleasure to buy a sofa bed from a company whose products are made locally in Northern California and customized to meet your needs. Usually such customization comes with a very high price tag but the prices are very reasonable at Sofas 4 Less. There is also an extensive style variety to choose from.
But it was even more of a pleasure to work with Diana and Derek who remained professional and helpful when some problems occurred with our order. We felt listened to and the final outcome is a beautiful sleeper sofa that meets our needs and surpasses our expectations.
Great friendly customer service, a decent price for a sofa made to fit our small living room and a beautiful velvet sofa, I couldn't ask for more! Thank you Derek. I'll make sure my friends and neighbors know what a fine store you have.

We were looking to purchase a big couch for our new home. We have guests over a lot and our old home lacked seating. After a recommendation by our Realtor, we went down to the Sofas for Less on Lone Tree Way in Antioch. The store has plenty of parking and is clean. They have tons of floor models and color samples, which made it easy to pick out what we wanted. Any arrangement you want, color, style etc they can do!
We got our custom L-shaped sectional for $2300 in a honey micro fiber and we love it! It is made locally and we had it in a week! The last place we got furniture from took 6 weeks and isn't made here (ASHELY blah! ) Our Ashely couches did not come with a warranty and the warranty was a waste as when we really needed repairs they said they weren't covered. Mel, the store owner, is very easy to work with and even told us if there is ever any issue he will make it right. It was also refreshing that the staff did not freak out about my 4 and 6 year-old boys running around and testing all the couches. A lot of furniture stores are very snoody about bringing kids but Mel (a family man) understood!
The quality of our couch is great and all of our family loves it! We need to buy more couches for other rooms in the house so we will definitely be returning to Sofas for Less! P.S. They also have financing and you don't have to put too much down to get your order started :) Delivery was an additional cost but you have the option of picking it up yourself.

I live in San Francisco and i was referred to Sofas 4 Less by a friend of mine. My girlfriend and I were moving in together and she obviously hated my current couch. So we decided we needed a new one. You'd think this would be simple.
I ended up getting a hold of Derek, from Sofas 4 Less, and we emailed him a few couches that my girlfriend had found that she liked. He assured us that he could get us almost anything we wanted. When he said that, we decided to make the trip out to his store to see and feel what his products were like. We spent probably around 3-4 hours there trying to decide what we wanted exactly. I was in charge of the comfort department, and her the looks. Derek was EXTREMELY patient in helping us to find the right feel for the cushions and more importantly (to her) the fabric. He spent time on the phone making calls and trying to get just the right fabric.
We finally found our perfect couch, however, Derek had to make some additional phone calls the following day. He promptly followed up with us and confirmed that we were going to receive the couch we had in mind!!
Derek also let us know, a couple weeks later, that he was trying to speed up the process. Sure enough, he did, and our couch was delivered to us a few days later. The delivery guys were great, prompt, called ahead, cleaned up after themselves, and assembled our couch.
We were SUPER happy with the service, selection, and personal touch that comes with purchasing a couch from Sofas 4 Less. Plus it was COMPLETELY customizable to our space, so I guess we're not moving. We have received numerous compliments on our couch and all of our friends want to know where they can get one for their next move. I would definitely recommend Sofas 4 Less and will go there next time if we move to a larger place.

We had.been looking all over the area for a nice big comfortable couch with no sucses. we came.across sofas 4 less it was a nice.clean store and the owner was very nice no pressure.to buy at all. We looked and.found.a nice couch that was perfect! We waited for taxes came back bought our couch and now we sit on cloud 9 watching t.v.! I recommend buying your.couch there=)

okay, you are not going to believe this as if you just walk by your are going to think it is just another one of those furniture companies that come and go and all have the same junk. Well you are going to be so suprised as it is a small family busineess so the customer service is excellent. The couches are made in the good old USA which is putting food on the tables of our Americans where it belongs...but that is not even the best part. He has the best name brands and are you ready you can pick any fabric your want for any sofa. No A B C and of course you always like the C fabric and then your 600.00 couch is now 900.00. I ordered mine yesterday and it will be here next Thursday can you imagine that no 6-8 weeks. The prices are fantastic the best I have seen any where, the quality is top notch and from today until Sept 4th no sales tax. I was going to get my sofa a new slip cover as I have the slip cover type. Well on line it was almost 1,000 for a slip cover so I thought I would find a local seamstress as I sew and have recovered small chairs before and he has the pattern so it would probably take him no more than 3 hours if that he wanted 650.00 plus the cost of material which would of been another 300.00 and I got a new couch for less than that and I am going to sell mine as it is perfect. Go check it out, I bet you will walk out with a new sofa!!!!!

What a fantastic concept! Any sofa, custom made for a great price. We ordered a sofa to the exact dimensions we needed, in our desired fabric and color, and even got to pick out the firmness of the cushions. Great service, knowledgeable associates, and a quick turn around. Ordered our sofa on Saturday and it was in on the following Thursday! I would highly recommend this business!

This is a great place. Incredibly friendly service, no pressure to buy, family owned business and reliable delivery by respectable young men. My fiancé wandered in this place and found a deep cushion couch that was so much more affordable than Restoration Hardware. Name says it all! We actually bought our custom sectional from the original store in martinez. 14'x9' and 48" deep, and the Chase is like 7' deep! The other places that were custom in comparable sizes were more than double the price and NOWHERE near as comfortable as "The Big House" I think our model is called. Thier couches are made here local and frame has lifetime warranty. If cushions ever go flat, they will hook you up with some fill. What more can you ask for.
When I saw Mel here at this new addition, I just had to write up another positive review. His customer service is outstanding as I'm sure anyone else working here is as well. So before you go to a big name brand store and spend 5 racks on a sofa, stop here before, guaranteed you'll find the same thing for less! If they don't have something on the floor, ask, they do it ALL!

I strolled into Sofas 4 Less on a whim and knew the moment I left, that I would be purchasing my custom made sectional from here. After visiting countless furniture places I realized that the size and shape of my living room called for a very large, custom made sectional that I could not find anywhere else, which is exactly what Sofas 4 Less made for me. Everything from style, shape, size, color and of course fabric (we got a really cool almost reptile like patterned microfiber that I had not seen anywhere else) was tailored to our needs. We even got the cushion depth extended 2" for free to make it more comfortable (since I am pretty tall).
From the very first interaction with Mel (the Owner) who was friendly, informative and NOT PUSHY, to every corresponding meeting and phone call with Diego (his son) - every one of their staff members (even the delivery guys) have been nothing but pleasant and professional. Nonetheless I told myself repeatedly that this is what every buying experience should be!! They definitely went above and beyond for me as I was short on time and needed to have my sectional delivered ASAP. Again they came through for me and delivered earlier than anticipated.
What also intrigued me was that all their stuff is made right here in the USA! No cheap china imports, and everything has an awesome warranty (apparently even on pillows/stuffing in case they lose density). Took advantage of their Memorial Day no sales tax sale and got even more of a discount on top of their very reasonable prices. Also, cash is king... :p
My sectional was delivered yesterday and it looks and feels AMAZING. Super comfortable, been waiting to have something like this for years. Best of all it didn't break the bank AND I feel very good about the purchase and the decision to go with Sofas 4 Less. I am recommending Mel, Diego and the team to all my friends!
